1979 Firebird Trans Am
6K Tachometer w/Quartz Clock
This listing is for an original GM 6K Tachometer from a 1979 Trans Am with a Quartz clock AND the Quartz name on the Tachometer Facing. GM started using these Quarts style clocks in mid-1979. This is the early style WITHOUT Quartz printed above the clock facing. It will fit any 1979 - 1981 Firebird, Trans Am, or Formula that is equipped with a Quartz style Clock/Tach (see below) but the facing of the 1980-81 models are slightly different. With some modification, it can be installed in earlier models.
The Tachometer has been bench tested at 700, 2k, 3k, and 4k and is accurate. The clock has been bench tested for 24 hours and is also accurate The colors, numbers are clean and clear with some light wear for its age. Would give it a 7.5 out of 10 rating. Great for any restoration or daily driver.
