1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am fiberglass Hood -bolt on
This fiberglass hood is for 1969 model, but it also fits the 1967-1968 firebirdmodels. This is a bolt on hood; it will bolt directly to your factory hingesand accepts your front hood latch. The use of light weight springs is required.You must use hood pins on the front of this hood to hold it down.
It is hand laid up, and even though it isbetter, air bubbles between the layers of fiberglass is still possible and whenyou start sanding on it the air pockets or pits show up and you need to repairthem.
It is like all aftermarket parts, trimmingmaybe required to achieve a desired fit. As all fiberglass parts, it requires some preparation work beforepainting. Sanding will be required to achieve the look that will match debalance of your car. There can be minor low spots or a textured edge.
Fiberglass is a strong low weightmaterial. Its low weight makes it easier to transport and install.
