This isaremanufacturedMopar 340 cubic inch engine for a 1969 model year A-Body(Barracuda or Dart, possibly Valiant). Rebuild was done Fall 2015 by a professional enginebuilder. The transmission is not included.

The engine pad has9E143872,meaning \"9\"for 1969, \"E\" for Los Angeles plant (which was building Darts, Barracudas and Valiants in 1969 model year), and then last six digits of theVIN of the car it went in. The block casting number is2780930-340-3andit was castDecember 10, 1968.

The cylinder heads are alsoremanufactured, and are the legendary cast-iron, closed chamber \"X\" pieces,castingnumber2531894,with2.02intake/1.60exhaustvalves. I forget the dates of the heads .. if you absolutely must know Iwill pull a valve cover. The \"X\" heads ran from 1968 to 1971model years.

We rebuilt engine to stock (easily researchable online) specificationsexcept for the Edelbrock intake and carburetor. These was no porting ofthe heads or other permanent alterations (other than typical surfacing of heads/block during the rebuild, etc.) to any of the castings. We went \"0.10 over\" on the block.

I also (not shown) have a set of \"hugger\" headers and a new Edelbrock 1002 air cleaner that are also included. I have an original (refinished at home in wrinkle finish, driver quality job) un-silenced 340 air cleaner with a new pie tin (not included, generic photo shown in last pic) that we can discuss if you are the winner and want it.

Serious bidders only please. No offer is automatically accepted (except the BIN price) but offers below which I would never sell it are automatically declined.

Look around please .. you can find out selling prices to compare to this one to many sources for original \"back in the day\" 340\'s as cores, to rebuilt original pieces like this one, to the ground pounding strokers, all the way to the \"rare birds\" that turn up as NOS pieces on occasion that were lost in a warehouse for 50 years.
