Hello, thisauction is for a completely original 1964 Chevy Corvette 327 375 horsepowerengine. I bought the engine disassembled and the short block looked to have neverbeen apart since it left the factory in 1964, it still had all of the originalGM bearings and pistons. I performed acomplete rebuild on the engine maintaining all of its originality.

Castingand ID numbers:

Engine Block: 3782870. Casting date J-13-3 October 13,1963

Front ID Pad: F1017RF Assembled October 17, 1963 327375hp Fuel injection. VIN code 4103393

Cylinder Heads: 3782461, these have the X cast under thewater port. Casting dates are bothI-3-3. September 3, 1963. They areoriginal 2.02x1.60 heads.

Crankshaft: 4577.This crankshaft is drilled and tapped for a harmonic balancer retentionbolt. It is also light grey in color, not natural steel. The light grey coloris Tuffriding, a surface hardening process that was done only to factory highperformance crankshafts.

History: I bought this engine from a customer whoremoved it from a 1956 Chevy pickup. Thetruck was built by his uncle in the mid 1970’s.He told me that his uncle pulled the engine from an early Corvette butknew nothing else about it. I have no other original parts for the engine as ithad a chrome oil pan and M/T valve covers on it when I bought it.

Engine Block: Thereis not a single flaw or speck of damage any ware on this engine block. No stripped threads, broken bolts orheli-coils. The block was hot tanked andmagnafluxed, there is no cracks or repair. It is freshly bored .040 oversize size Dura-bond camshaft bearings, andnew steel freeze plugs were installed.

Rotating Assembly: The original crankshaft, and connecting rodswere cleaned (rods and crankshaft were both magnafluxed). The crankshaft did have some minor scratchesso it was reground .010/.010 and the short block was reassembled. For parts Speed pro flat top hypereutecticpistons, Clevite tri-metal main and connecting rod bearings were installed alongwith Hastings moly piston rings. The pistons are part number H660P and yield a9.50:1 compression ratio.

Cylinder Heads: At some point in this engines life theheads were modified. They have beenmildly ported on the intake and exhaust, combustion chambers polished and screwin rocker studs were installed. The portwork looks to be of nice quality and neither the intake or exhaust ports wereenlarged. Exhaust ports were smoothed upand there is mild bowl work done to the intakes. The heads have been completely rebuilt withnew steel 2.02x1.60 valves, hardened exhaust valve seats, and new Z28/LT1 valvesprings.

Valvetrain: The factory camshaft was worn beyond thepoint that it could be reused. Uponreassembly I installed a new Sealed power reproduction camshaft. The part number is CS-118R and it is ablueprint reproduction of the factory Duntov 30-30 cam. Specifications are .485 lift on the intakeand exhaust and 254 duration .050 on a 114 lobe centerline. Complementing the camshaft are new sealedpower mechanical lifters and a SA gear double roller timing chain.

Rocker arms and pushrods are new ElginIndustries stock replacement.
