Description: GM PROPORTIONING VALVE-There are many GM cars that are not listed in the fitment chart this will fit with. 1968-1981 Pretty much all GM cars. It is also a must on any old car any make that you are converting the front drum brakes to disc brake. This will be an exact replacement if your car came with disc brakes on the front.

  • (2) 3/8-24\" ports for the front brakes
  • (1) 9/16-18\" port for the rear brakes
  • Dash warning low pressure light switch on valve (Pigtail not included), but available through MBM
TECH TIP: This valve is combination valve. This means that as well asproportion the brake fluid front to rear, it also has a metering valve builtinto it to meter the fluid to the front brakes.You see, when you push your brake pedal, it will only take 2psi of fluidpressure to start to push out the piston in the front brake calipers. It takesat least 10psi in order to activate the rear springs holding the brake shoes.So essentially, on a soft or slow stop coming to a light, you could be onlystopping on the front brakes only, because you are not pushing enoughpressure to push out the rear shoes. So this combo valve will hold off to10psi to the front brakes to allow the use of both front and rear brakes toactivate. A lot of the other valves listed here on eBay are only proportioningvalve and do not meter the front brakes. This valve is of the highest qualityand is USA made by Master Brake Manufacturing (MBM). We have usedthese valves here in our shop for many years. They are great to also useon just about any of your street rod or classic truck project.
