I have been a Honda Element owner since 2003. I recently decided to add an upgrade to my car that I hadn't originally: the keyless entry system. I'd known for years that the word from other owners who didn't have this factory installed was that the actual install was quick and simple. I was afraid this would be "quick and simple" for people used to working on cars, which isn't me, but after finding a YouTube video walking you through the steps I'd thought I'd give it a try! How long did it take me, a person who hasn't done more than replace my own wiper blades on my car? Five minutes. Seriously! I spent longer looking for my socket set to loosen the battery terminal cable (part of the install steps) than I did actually installing the system. It was so straightforward! And now I have a keyless entry system - YIPPEE! I wish I'd done this years ago.Read full review

The tumblers in Honda Element door locks are won't to go bad. In the case of my 2004, first the driver side, then a couple of years later the passenger side. I had few choices: pay Honda $1000 to rekey the whole thing, climb in through the tailgate until that lock, too, failed, leave the car unlocked -- or get one of these. Truth is, if I'd known I could add this -- which is quick and easy with the supplied directions -- I wouldn't have worn out the flimsy door lock cylinders. I'm very happy to have it and it has so far worked flawlessly.

I used to lock and unlock my car from inside my house but for the last 2 years the keyless entry stopped working. I replaced the fob batteries, bought a generic fob that worked for a month or so, then replaced that with 2 used OEM fobs, then gave up... I had looked up replacing the entire keyless entry system but what if it didn't work? The used fobs had loose backs, so I also got covers thinking they would hold the backs in place and work. So here I am 2 years later. eBay gives me a $15 off coupon and after filling my cart with another cell phone cover and other ridiculous stuff I figured I would delete them all and get something that could potentially make life easier... It showed up in a few days, the outside box said Element 08E60-SCV-100. The inside box said Civic 08E61-S5D-100. A google search said it was the same part so I chanced it and in 5 minutes my keyless entry was back!!! I even programmed one of the used fobs I found in my glovebox. It was extremely easy! I'm a single mom and have absolutely no mechanical experience. Very happy!!!Read full review

We got this for our 2003 Element that we've owned since new. We have a 2nd Element, a 2007 purchased recently that came with keyless entry. My wife liked it. I installed the keyless entry on our '03 in about 30 minutes in a DSW parking lot while my wife was returning some shoes. The programming step was not tricky at all. The receiver installation can be done with a 3/8 inch wrench. Fast, painless and works perfectly.

The driver side door lock, on my 06 Element, stopped working and I put up with it for a few weeks. Unlocking the passenger side, to unlock the driver side, and then walking around the car to get in got old. I googled and found that the easiest solution was to buy a key fob set, with the module. So I bought this one, followed the instructions on how to pair the key fobs, and getting into the car is easy again. I absolutely recommend this solution! P. S. Pay close attention to the pairing procedure.
