    Keyless remote she'll for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee

    This was just what I needed. Removed all the internal working of my old remote, including the little metal spring clip under the battery. This is important as it make it possible for the battery current to make contact with the circuitry of the remote. Then placed it all into the new shell. A little snug, but just as it should be being NEW. I highly recommend this product if your SHELL is broken. If it is not communicating with you vehicle, you have other issues this will not solve.

    Solid Shell

    The shell was good, not so much with the inner rubberized mold that cushions the transistor board. I don't know if the mold was bad as it had a slightly thicker wall side compared to the opposite side wall. As a result it was difficult to have the shell snap close; took about 5 to 6 attempts. Also, the board inside was cramped tight and may have been the reason for the remote not to work/engage the locks. Fortunately, eBay is replacing it.

    Not as plug and play as advertised...

    Yes, this is advertised as a "shell", nothing more. However, the rear of the shell is missing an essential piece. The aluminum spring, which when batteries are inserted press a small aluminum tab up into contact with the circuit board allowing power to flow. Without it, there is not a circuit, and the keyfob is useless. If you purchase this, you can't just move the circuit board and your good to go. You have to also remove the aluminum spring and place it into the shell. Unfortunately, the spring is usually glued in and will warp or bend upon removal. If you want new buttons or the front of a the shell, then purchase this, but if your replacing and entire keyfob, buy the OEM, it's not much more. It might need programming, which you can do via YouTube, but at least they're honest. Unlike ...

    Great for my Jeep GC

    Make sure to put the circuit board in the rubber pad and then work the buttons and rubber pad down into the case really good and it will snap right together.
