Default Anyone out there..........

Hi,
I'm Fastrip. I am a God fearing Family man.
I am a new member to the drag race community.
I have always enjoyed involvement with dirt modifieds and 410 sprint cars.
With the inspiration of a drag racing friend I started to compete in the street eliminator class at a local track. We were going to sell what had been my wife's V6 Firebird (she had a misshap with the car just after getting it for a milestone birthday and dis-liked the car there after) after a 4 year ownership. It was a good summer car at 25-30 mpg depending on driving conditions. I always saw to the maintenance so the car at 95000 was in pretty good shape.
I took some .650 second to get going in my first pass and the car went a blistering 16.2 at 86 mph. I did nothing to the car and got the reaction times down to .02-.06. I already had syntehetic oil in the engine and rear end. I opened the air intake up and went from a 26'' rear tire to a 24'' tire and got the times in the 15.9-16.0 range (in far worse air). I had good night s going to the 4th round (good for me) and buy back nights when I couldn't cut a light to save my life. My 13 year old son and crew chief did a wonderful job of keeping moral up so we are still racing. He said I can't quit.
There, that's a start.
