Default FWD Traction

Basically i have a 1500cc hyundai scoupe turbo making 200kw and 400nm per ton, my quatermile times are just sub 15's but there are guys with similar setups running low 13's. . i just wish i knew more about race car preparation. cos those guys are doing something that i dont know about. and im alone as no-one got any love for a hyundai. i have been building the car as a project car for a few years now as i dont have alot of cash.(allthought i have spent buckets in the correct places) but finally the car is making the right amount of power now i just need to run the times. getting to go sub 14' will be a huge relieve as there are many production cars that you can buy off the show room floor that are running these times. here is my cabby http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2581255

looking forward to your reply's

It might be traction issues or it might be something else...What do your 60' times look like and what sort of tires and tire sizes are you running with?

@ out track we dont get 60' times (only when a national event is present, do they bringout that equipment)

I do think traction is the problem. to answer you question. @ present im using street tyres. i have 15's and 17's at my disposal.

I do know with Semi's slicks or ET Street , i could do a burnout and improve my time. and also a Quaife LSD will be a huge upgrade BUT there are other people running impressive times on street tyres and with open diff's

What i have done to improve traction is as follow's. i have Custom shocks all round. t
Front = 90% Rebound and 10% Compression. (shortend shock's)
Rear = 10% rebound and 90% Comperssion.

I have had the rear coils raised and hardend so now the car sits with the arse in there air. i race street legal class so i have a full interior but everything else, spare wheel jack tools is out anything that can go is out!

despite the suspension being modified when i launch the car it still pulls liek a boat with the noise in the air. when teh car is on the dyno the motor lifts up a insane amount, many times i think fucked its going to break all the engine mounts at one go.

I launch the car @ 1 bar(100kw) and only in 3rd do i high boost(200kw's) i have done a exist speed of 170kph before so i know teh car is fast, its just getting it to runn the times...

When i launch the car i do "preload the suspension" buy holding up the hand break so there is NOT a Huge shock to the drive train. and after 2nd gear when i shift i dont take my foot of the gas...

i do have a phantom grip on order, i know its not a real LSD and i know alot of peopele hate them but i have seen them work well and last for years and there is 2-3 people on dragtimes who run the same motor and gearbox setup as me with Phantom grips and there times are in the 11's..

Thx
