World’s Fastest BMW – Haltech World Cup Finals

November 21st, 2018

Hello, drag racers, street racers, and every other kind of speed aficionado. Welcome to Maryland International Raceway. Please join us for the Haltech World Cup Finals; one of the premiere amateur drag racing events in the world.

Featured in this production is a European import being billed as the fastest BMW in the World. With an initial pass of 6.78-seconds @ 209.33 MPH, who can argue? Budler Motorsports built this ProMod BMW from an RJ Race Cars Double Rail Welded Chassis Kit and came all the way from South Africa to kick some butt.

Under the hood is an inline 6-cylinder billet engine, based on the 3.8-liter (E34 M5) BMW platform. A single Precision turbo setup is responsible for forced air induction and it is tuned to approximately 44 psi. Fuel Tech fuel injection provides the go-go juice. As anyone can see – there’s no shortage of horsepower and the vehicle weight is only about 2,500-pounds.

After showing us the car, the crew went on to post contested runs of 6.69-seconds @ 210.80 MPH, 6.53-seconds @ 216.41 MPH, 6.57-seconds @ 218 MPH, and 6.51-seconds @ 201 MPH. This is a fresh build and we look forward with much anticipation to the great things coming from this camp.
