Wheelstand Wednesday — The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

April 1st, 2015

Gremlin BumperstandWheelie-bars? We don’t need no stinkin’ wheelie-bars! Check out these Mustangs, Mopars, Malibus, and muscle-bound Camaros (there is even a Luv pickup and a Willis) as they attempt to go airborne. Some get “hooked-up” and lay down a fantastic quarter or eighth-mile pass. Some are literally up and down, from one end of the track to the other, and a few are just epic failures (one car even leaves parts strewn all over the track).

Surely these guys have now invested in a good set of wheelie-bars after tearing up their rear-bumpers, roll pans, and other miscellaneous components, by slamming their backside into the pavement. Kudos on the powertrain; it requires a mountain of torque to pull those front wheels off the ground like that. Now it is time to consider some much needed protection in the form of a heavy-duty set of wheelie-bars.
