Twin-Turbo Opel Tears Up the Streets

Twin-Turbo Opel Tears Up the StreetsIf you are under 50-years of age, and haven’t traveled outside of the U.S. extensively, then you have likely never seen an Opel on the street. Well, here’s your chance – and it’s a tremendous example. Street racing (even Swedish style) is interesting enough but when you add a couple of tiny power houses like these it’s downright awe inspiring!

The little Opel is running an LSX (GM V8) engine with a pair of 76-millimeter turbochargers dialed-in at only 15 psi of boost. It’s churning out 1,400hp. In case you are curious; the Volvo is producing about 1,000hp using a 5.7-liter Chevrolet engine with a GMC 8-71 roots type supercharger. This is straight-up ground-pounding dig racing action and there’s even a cockpit POV camera.

NOTE: We neither condone nor encourage racing on public streets.
