Twin Turbo 300Z is Worlds Quickest

October 22nd, 2019

Greetings drag racing fans and welcome to FL2K19 from Bradenton, Florida. Meet Dean Moslow, Jr. and his World Record Holding 1993 Nissan 300ZX. The record is for a stock engine (VG30) car in the quarter-mile. Let’s go to the track and watch Dean’s car in action.

In addition to the stock (undisturbed) VG30 V6, there are a pair of Garrett GTX3071 Gen II turbochargers with ID1300x fuel injectors, a WINFactory fuel rail, a combination of AEM/Boss fuel pumps and an Ash-SPEC intercooler. It also has 3-inch exhaust, 2.5-inch intercooler piping; and it’s running E85 fuel. Other than the stock motor, everything in the car is built to go fast. The ECU is a Haltech and it is tuned by Dean. It has made 785hp on a Dynojet. Frankly, Dean seems shocked that the factory non-turbo mill has held together up until now.

Right off the trailer, Dean and the crew make a world record pass of 8.91-seconds @ 150.9 mph. Oh, btw, he did a 30-mile street car cruise as well. Shocking.

Race fans might remember Dean from the Fastest Car show on Netflix. He was in Episode 2 of Season 6 and his car was red at the time. When he found his current ride, he transferred most of the parts over to the lighter slick-top model. That’s what we do.
