Since the Model X took down the Ferrari F430 last week in a race we decided to bump up the speed a bit and pit the Model X against one of the quickest and fastest super cars available today, the McLaren 650S.  With the McLaren’s 3.8L V8 Twin Turbo engine pumping out 641HP through the rear wheels and weighing in at 3,200 pounds and the Model X with it’s combined 762HP (560HP usable) AWD and 5,600 pounds, the Model X  really isn’t a match at all, or is it?

This depends on the situation, we decided to run the cars against each other with and without launch control just to show what would happen if you just hammered both cars off the line in a typical stop light encounter as well as a properly setup race with time to engage launch control, bring up the revs, build boost and time the light for a clean start.  Check out the video below to see the results!
