Bowtie Street Battle – Camaro vs Corvette

December 29th, 2015

This video shows us a roll racing contest between a big money supercar and a high profile retro muscle car. Both cars are daily drivers and both are pushing some serious ponies. The Corvette is sporting a 6.2-liter LS3 Chevrolet V8 engine and an A&A Supercharger (8 to 10-pounds of boost). Naturally, it also has all the necessary programming mods to go along with it. It is making around 600hp. The Camaro is outfitted with a Paxton Novi 1500 supercharger (10 psi), an East Coast Supercharger (ECS) camshaft upgrade, and it is making about 700hp. This is some hard fought Read More

Twin Turbo 7-Second Camaro ZL1

September 23rd, 2015

You have likely heard of Larry Larson. Larry is the guy who campaigned the S-10 Pickup, during the Super Car Nationals 2014, dipping down into the 5s in the process. Well, he has turned his attention to a 2015 Camaro ZL1. Now, this bad Bowtie is winning classes and whipping as*es all over the mid-west. Under the hood, Larry has implanted a 540-cubic-inch billet aluminum big block CFE Racing engine with a Callie’s Magnum crankshaft, Oliver billet connecting rods, and Diamond 9:1 flat-top pistons. The cylinder heads are BMF with 405cc intake ports, 2.325 intake valves and 1.880 exhaust valves. Read More

Street Envy – 750hp TT Green Camaro

August 18th, 2015

Check out this fantastic looking emerald green fifth-generation Camaro. This thing will have you green with envy – street envy, that is. A Hellion twin turbo kit with an AMS 2000 boost controller, a Psycho performance tuner, a camshaft upgrade, and a 3600 RPM stall converter are among the highlighted modifications on this bad Bowtie. The engine is a stock 6.2-liter. The Camaro makes short work of the first two competitors; a souped-up TT Infiniti G35 and a 685hp supercharged Ford Lightning F150 pickup. The final matchup proved to be a bit more of a challenge, though. The 750hp Mitsubishi Read More

Airstrip Assault Supercar Showdown

August 11th, 2015

This skilled videographer has managed to capture some very competitive head-to-head roll racing on a closed airstrip. There are representations from many of the big exotic manufacturers – Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and McLaren. The domestic bad boys showed up, too. There are Dodge Vipers and Challengers, Chevrolet Camaros and Corvettes, Cadillac CTS-Vs, and a scarce few Ford Mustangs. The imports include some Nissan GT-Rs and Toyota Supras (it’s alright to assume they are turbocharged). There is even an old ice cream truck and a 700+hp Volkswagen Golf. These lucky competitors line up at one end of the airstrip and start Read More

8-Second 1/4-Mile by an 18-Year Old Girl

July 29th, 2015

In my gym there is a small sign that reads, “Remember that somewhere in China a school girl just did multiple sets of 15 – with your max.” That reminds me of Alex Taylor. As the youngest competitor at Rocky Mountain Race Week, this 18-year old is competing on a level that is much more advanced than her years. In one clip she responds to a question regarding the effects of the Colorado elevation level with, “Ooooh, el-e-vation” and in another she is spewing analytical tuner data like an experienced crew chief. This racer is already good, but one day Read More

Twin Turbo Camaro vs. Turbo LS9 RX-7

July 24th, 2015

On a secluded airstrip in the desert, there stood a pretty girl. Her arms were raised and her long, dark hair was blowing in the warm breeze – that was just before all hell broke loose. She was a gorgeous starter and the hades that was unleashed came from a twin turbocharged 2012 Chevrolet Camaro and a highly modified 1994 Mazda RX-7. This is 1/2-mile roll racing and the Camaro gets the initial jump on the Mazda but the advantage is short lived (Hmmph!). The RX-7 posts a top speed of 191mph narrowly snatching victory from the Chevy that posted Read More

3,200HP No Prep TT-Camaro

June 16th, 2015

No timers and no tree, just two competitors and their cars and 1320-feet of straight and flat blacktop – that is No Prep racing in a nutshell. Typical No Prep racers don’t roll out of the box with twin-turbochargers and 3,200 horsepower, though. Nevertheless, here is a clip that shows a monstrous 1986 Chevrolet Camaro that meets those qualifications. He wins grudge match after grudge match. Then he wins the final in the “Big-Tire Class”. It takes an experienced driver and a good crew to successfully campaign a car with this much power in a no prep event like this. Read More

Street Racing: NOS/Supercharged Camaro ZL1 vs. Viper T/A

May 29th, 2015

Check out this contest of speed that begins as a 60 mph rolling race and morphs into a Snake show. With advertised horsepower ratings being a little “flexible” where street racers are concerned, it should come as no surprise when a 632HP car overcomes a 750HP car on an apparently deserted stretch of highway. That is the case in this video from That Racing Channel. The Camaro appears to gain the early edge but the Viper is having none of it; coming back to take the victory in the end. We neither condone or encourage racing on public streets. The Read More

Late Model Chevrolet ZL1 Camaro vs. Modified Foxbody Mustang

May 1st, 2015

This Foxbody Mustang is certainly not stock. That is evident by the monstrous “lick” that it is hitting in the staging area. This little Mustang sounds awesome and I, for one, expected it to put away the late model Camaro (which appears to be stock). Not so fast, friend! The Camaro is outfitted with the high-performance ZL1 package. It posts a 12.32-second pass at 115.44 mph, with stock rubber on the rear. The Foxbody driver comes out of the gate slowly and the Camaro eats him alive, despite having some traction issues at the start. The ZL1 is equipped with Read More

Outlaw Street Car Reunion 2 Memphis Madness

April 16th, 2015

The Outlaw Street Car Reunion 2 X275 Eliminations from the Memphis International Raceway yielded this awesome clip that includes representatives of virtually every domestic auto manufacturer in head-to-head action. Instead of the Outlaw Street Car Reunion, this looks more like the Mustang Fox Body reunion. There must have been 20-high quality Fox bodies in attendance at this 1/8-mile event. Of course, there are also some fast moving Chevrolets from various eras, as well. There is even a fantastic looking Burnt Orange Mopar in the form of a late model retro-Challenger. It posts a 4.67-second pass at 155.79 mph. Most of Read More
