Drag Racing BMW i8

August 3rd, 2015

In this video, you will witness an all-wheel drive, 4-passenger BMW i8 coupe going head to head with such supercars as the Ferrari Speciale and the Nissan GT-R. Surprisingly, despite having a horsepower rating of only 357, the i8 seems to hold its own in every contest, even winning a bout or two. As you may know, the BMW i8 is a hybrid powered coupe that is equipped with an intercooled and twin turbocharged 1.5-liter L91, inline 3-cylinder (yes, 3) engine, with direct fuel injection and 2-electric motors. It has a curb weight of 3,455-pounds and can achieve 60 mph Read More

1300HP Nissan GT-R Devours Super-Street Bikes

May 27th, 2015

This clip shows why the Nissan GT-R is affably nicknamed “Goliath.” If a stock GT-R is Goliath, then this 1300HP Boost Logic creation is a critter of unimaginable proportions. It makes nearly triple the factory horsepower of the already proficient Nissan supercar. Watch as it gobbles up a new BMW 1000RR street bike like a – well, like a monster! BMW M5 Vs. Dodge Charger Hellcat

April 17th, 2015

What would happen if a luxury sedan like an E39 (1998-2003) BMW 5-Series went up against the almighty 707-horsepower Dodge Charger Hellcat in a rolling drag race? That depends upon whether or not the BMW is an M-Sport with a lighter turbocharged 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine from a M3 Coupe. I am not sure what kind of tuning was necessary to push the M5 past the Hellcat in terms of performance horsepower output. Whatever modifications have been performed on this opulent European four-door, they prove more than adequate to dispense of this Mopar, in short order. I would like to see this Read More

Drag Racing Tesla S P85D vs. BMW M4

April 10th, 2015

Far be it from us to condone street racing under any circumstances, but check out this rolling drag race between an all-American Tesla electric S P85D and the latest BMW M4. The heavier Tesla sedan may have met its match in a rolling race with the sporty M4 coupe, as the BMW gains a slight lead at the start. Nope, despite the M4 grabbing the early lead, the more powerful S P85D pulls to the forefront and stays there for the duration. The BMW turns out to be no match for the Tesla with 691-horsepower and totally-electric “insane-mode” that delivers Read More

2015 BMW M3 F80 on the Dyno

June 23rd, 2014

EAS got their hands on a brand new 2015 BMW M3 F80 Sedan and gave it a few runs on their DynoJet Dyno.  BMW’s latest ///M has a 3.0L Inline 6 Twin Turbo engine rated at 425 horsepower and 406 ft-lbs of torque through a dual clutch transmission.   On the dyno the M3 put down 424 horsepower and 425 ft-lbs of torque to the rear wheels.  Using an estimated 13% driveline loss for it’s DCT transmission,  that puts the new M3 at 487+ horsepower. While the dyno numbers are certainly impressive no matter how you calculate it, we’ll reserve judgement Read More
