Supercharged 1967 Pontiac GTO Restomod

July 6th, 2022

Shout out to Shawn at Autotopia LA for bringing us this awesome ’67 Goat Restomod with a supercharged LSA powerplant. The 6.2-liter LSA engine is an internally balanced, all-aluminum (block and heads) V8 with powder metal connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons. The blower is a 1.9-liter Eaton TVS unit. Strengthened by six-bolt, cross drilled main caps and a forged steel crankshaft, the small block GM motor features a recommended redline of 6,600 RPM. In stock trim, the LSA platform can generate 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine in this GTO has been upgraded with aftermarket (supercharger/crankshaft) pulleys, a performance ignition system, a larger throttle body, exhaust headers and a Magnaflow 3-inch performance exhaust. As it sits, this Poncho can send 520hp to the rear tires on command.

The transmission is a beefed up 4L80E automatic (heavy-duty GM). Dale (owner/operator) is running a Curry 9-inch rear end (Ford design).

Front suspension improvements include SPC adjustable control arms. Rear suspension upgrades include adjustable shocks and lowering springs (coils). The extreme-duty braking system includes 15-inch vented rotors and a Wilwood master cylinder. The wheels are Schott 20-inch billet forged masterpieces.

The one-of-a-kind interior is beautifully done by TMI and the perfect exterior is from a close friend of Dale’s.

This is a great car that has been in Dale’s family since it was brand-new. Time for a ride!
