SummerNats – 2JZ Holden Wagon

January 31st, 2018

The feature of this video is one of the most unique builds that we’ve ever come across. An Australian father and son put this impressive creation together in their garage and they did a terrific job of it. It took about 2-years to complete the build but it looks fantastic with all the meticulous paint and polished stainless work under the hood.

It all began as a 1964 Holden Station Wagon with an inline 6-cylinder engine. It was a natural progression for them to decide on an inline 6-cylinder replacement. This time, they’d go with a bulletproof Toyota 2JZ from a Supra. These motors are designed to withstand turbochargers so this was a good choice.

Aussie restrictions on modified street vehicles are much more stringent than here in the U.S. so this great looking wagon is equipped with a full exhaust (including a catalytic converter). Despite the bureaucratic exhaust restrictions, it still sounds and runs great. Along with the Toyota mill it’s running a single turbocharger and a 2-speed Powerglide transmission.

Turns out to be a 10-second car. Take a gander for yourself.
