Street Hits – Corvette ZR1 vs. Whipple Mustang GT

April 21st, 2020

Breaking away from the monotony of everyday quarantine, we have a night of fierce street (roll) racing south of the border. When I say this night is going to get weird – I mean F150 Raptor against Volkswagen GTI weird. Join us for a look into this peculiar situation.

That’s right, the first race of the evening is between a tuned (Palm Beach Dyno) Ford F150 Raptor rolling out against a Volkswagen GTI with an intake upgrade. Wow! Honestly, both these competitors are pretty slow, but the Raptor takes the advantage early and walks away easily.

Next up is a 2016 Mustang GT with a Whipple 2.9-liter supercharger, a pulley upgrade and it’s running on E85 fuel. This pony is making 815whp. The cameraman is on-board this heap. He’s going against a bone stock supercharged C6 Corvette ZR1. After several “spinning and grinning” hits, these two competitors get on track for a 55 mph roll. The ‘Vette takes a brief advantage and the GT drives quickly around him FTW. After that, the C6 holds out front for a bit longer in the 50 mph roll, but the Mustang takes him in the end. The Ford is superior in multiple hits.

As the evening progresses, we have a Sixth Gen Camaro SS with bolt-ons against a tuned Cadillac ATS-V. This one is difficult to see from the curb, but it looks like the Caddy FTW.

The stock ZR1 gets a reprieve with the arrival of a Mercedes-Benz AMG. Camera guy climbs in the Chevy. The Corvette certainly gains some confidence bashing the Mercedes easily.

Tons more roll racing on this one. Don’t miss it.
