Roll Racing on the Street – McLaren vs. Ferrari

April 15th, 2017

If high profile street racing is what you seek – this is it!

How much better could it get than a McLaren 570S and a Ferrari 488GTB, engaged in a contest of speed and acceleration on the street?

One thing is for certain; if you spot these two fine examples of automotive engineering on your local interstate, it will be a memorable trip.

The McLaren 570S is marketed as an entry level supercar. It is less intense and expensive than other McLaren models. The monocoque, mid-engine coupe is equipped with a 3.8-liter V8 engine capable of producing 562hp and 443 lb.-ft. of torque, and a rear-wheel drive 7-speed sequential gearbox. It can rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9-seconds and has a top speed of 204 mph.

The Ferrari 488 GTB garners speed with a similar strategy. It uses a 3.9-liter V8 engine that can make 661hp at a screeching 8,000 RPM. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3-seconds flat. A dual-clutch 7-speed transmission is the only available option.

This is a well produced video that showcases a pair of truly outstanding automobiles.
