Procharged Ford GT – Roll Racing and Dyno

September 20th, 2016

procharged-ford-gt-roll-racing-and-dynoWhen you think about Minnesota and Ford, images of furrowed ground and lush crops may come to mind but this “Star of the North” based Ford can run circles around anyone’s tractor. This is no trailer queen either; the owner drive it all over the U.S. – stopping only long enough to do a little tuning before taking on the local 1/4, 1/2, or 1-mile track. This clip catches owner and operator (Dan) at Street Car Takeover in St Louis, Missouri, after 500-miles of abusive road driving (part of a 7,000-mile week).

As you are aware, the Ford GT is basically a race car, even in factory trim. The typical GT packs a 550hp punch from a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine and is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5-seconds. It has an electronically controlled top speed of 205 mph.

This particular Ford GT is rather unique in that the stock engine is equipped with a shaft driven Procharger F1-A94 supercharger. Dan says that everyone is pestering him to “go turbo” but he can’t help the fact that he is just a supercharger guy. The combination is good for 873whp.

We look forward to seeing this car at the Texas Mile when Dan will make the journey from Minnesota to Houston, Texas and attempt to achieve a top speed of 250 mph!
