Porsche 930 Turbo vs. Lambo, Evo, Mercedes-Benz GTR

August 23rd, 2018

Greetings drag racing fans and car enthusiasts of all sorts. Welcome and allow me to introduce Frank and his beautiful Porsche.

The car is a 1987 Porsche 930 turbo. It is a purpose-built (road racing) labor of love with a built bottom end. Upgrades include Mahle Motorsports Racing pistons, ARP fasteners, Garrett GT40 turbocharger, MS3 electronic fuel injection, and it runs E85 fuel, exclusively. It is seriously sweet and quite a sleeper.

Today, Frank has taken her out to the track at Palm Beach International Raceway in sunny Florida to take on some exotic supercars. Buckle up!

First up is our own Brooks W in his (bone-stock) 2016 Lamborghini Huracan. Brooks gets the early jump on the Porsche and tries to put some distance between the competition. The Porsche is a top end beast and manages to make it close in multiple hits.

Next up, we have the car that is called “The Green Hell”. It’s a Mercedes-Benz GTR; a 6.3-liter bi-turbo car that is basically stock. This is a battle for German bragging rights. Again, the Green Hell gets the jump and the Porsche is forced to drive around him; which he does FTW!

Finally, a freshly built DSM EVO. No magic for the Porsche this time, the EVO jumps out front and remains there. EVO wins by more than a half-dozen. Fast EVO!
