New Half-Mile World Record

September 23rd, 2016

new-half-mile-world-recordUnderground Racing (UR) has scored again with their earth shaking X-Package. UR has taken the lead in developing turbocharged performance machines and, if this past weekend’s festivities are any indication, they aren’t planning on relinquishing their position any time soon.

The backdrop is a closed airstrip during the ShiftS3ctor event in McMinnville, Oregon. All of the top players are on hand for this event, as you might expect, and world records are being broken all weekend. At the end of the event, Richard Fowler owned the new World Record in the 1/2-mile at 247.25 mph – that’s 7 mph faster than the previous record! That’s even more exciting when you keep in mind that this is a street car with all the luxurious trappings (including air conditioning/heat) that accompany an elite level supercar.

The car is a 2015 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4, which comes from the factory with a 5.2-liter V10 and all-wheel drive. This car has added a UR X Version Twin Turbocharger system and a set of Toyo R888 street tires. This video features numerous camera angles, including a superb in-car pass, with incredible sounds so real that you can almost feel the asphalt.
