McLaren vs. Lamborghini vs. Fox Body

October 2nd, 2019

Greetings racing fans and speed aficionados of every creed. Welcome to a contest that seems stranger than fiction. You turn up for a TRC Invitational day and you half expect to see a McLaren roll out against a Lamborghini. What you don’t expect to see is a Mustang Fox Body gaptize the Lamborghini – after the Lambo spanks the McLaren. Let’s get a closer look.

Seems that this Fox Body has been modified to get the better of supercars on street or strip. A giant (572 cubic-inch) Coyote engine (built by Levin Motorsports) has been crammed under the hood. It is stock except for some JE pistons, high performance connecting rods, a camshaft upgrade and valvetrain goodies. The turbochargers are a pair of 69-millimeter units done by Work Turbo. A Ford Racing ECU controls the powertrain which runs off race gas. The rear end is a 40-spline Strange Engineering product. The car has posted a beat elapsed quarter-mile time of 8.6-seconds @ 160 mph. It weighs 2,600-pounds. Power is guesstimated to be in the 1,000hp neighborhood; with upgrades coming in the near future.

After a speck of trouble with a fan, the Fox Body rolls out and crushes the Huracan in convincing fashion. Wow!

There is a ton more racing action on this one. A McLaren takes on a capable Cadillac and a Porsche 911 Turbo. This is a fantastic video.
