LMR 800WHP C7 Z06 Build Embarrasses Stock Ferrari 488

April 2nd, 2021

Prepare to get your hands dirty as the professionals at Late Model Racecraft (LMR) take us through the steps on a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 build. After the hard part is done, the dyno tells the true story. No secrets once the car is strapped to this thing. Once the preliminary tuning is finished on the dyno – and we know what the car is capable of with the new mods – the tuner will wander out onto the street for some final tuning. The story ain’t over there. What should come alongside but a brand-spanking new Ferrari 488. This guy just spent a ton of money on an exotic whip, and he wants to see what’s up – or does he?

The Corvette Z06 is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 car from the factory. It makes 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque in stock trim.

This car is getting the full treatment from LMR. A camshaft and lifter upgrade, as well as new valve springs and retainers are in order. A Displacement on Demand (DOD) delete kit will eliminate a power-robbing factory feature. Exhaust headers are a must to free up even more horsepower. Porting the factory blower and adding a performance lid will also add a few more ponies to this thundering herd. With all the bells and whistles, this Z06 hits the dyno and produces nearly 800whp.

Time to hit the street. Get your crying towel Mr. Ferrari.
