The ride is a 1972 Yenko Nova with a billet big block Chevrolet engine. The engine is built by Pete Harrell of Harrell Engine & Dyno (HED) in Mooresville, North Carolina.
A pair of Garrett 88-millimeter turbochargers cram copious amounts of dense air into the massive engine and a Holley fuel injection system keeps the giddy-up juice flowing.
A Mark Micke (M&M) transmission handles the shifting duties.
Today, you will see this Nova (in Lamborghini Orange from 2014) post a best eighth-mile of 4.15-seconds @ 186.25 mph. By competing in the LDR Class, Justin took himself out of the money with the added weight. The car has run at under 2,800-pounds but had to weigh-in much heavier for LDR. The lighter competition just killed him but he got within .031-seconds of a new LDR world record. Maybe next time.
