November 22nd, 2016

fast-track-fox-body-7-second-quarter-mileFast Track Performance in Louisville, Kentucky has this Fox Body Mustang on the fast track to the winner’s circle and some serious cash prizes. While the combination of lightweight Mustang body and turbocharged LS based engine is not the most beloved among the Ford purists; it is quickly becoming one of the most popular paths to success in amateur drag racing.

Mustang bodies are plentiful, so they can be purchased for cheap. The LS engine platform is extremely durable and capable of producing massive amounts of horsepower. Forced air induction devices are selling at all time low prices. Throw all these factors together and you have a recipe for success on the street and strip.

This little pony right here is well equipped with a 7.0-liter LSX engine and a big old 88-millimeter Precision turbocharger (24 psi of boost). The setup is dyno proven at 1,400hp and the car has posted a best ET of 7.48-seconds at 191 mph. Not too shabby for a hybrid, small tire, door slammer.

There is some competitive, head-up, drag racing on this clip – check it out.
