This short clip documents pretty Emelia Hartford taking delivery of a very rare and brand-new Ferrari. Of course – as the car is unloaded – a snowstorm hits sunny California and gums up the works. Not to be outdone by weather, Emelia climbs behind the wheel and puts this $400k Italian supercar through its paces anyway. Keep in mind that there are only three of these cars in the U.S.

A hybrid powerhouse, the Ferrari 296 GTB is powered by a 2.9-liter, 120-degree, twin turbocharged V6 engine capable of producing 654hp. Add to that figure, a lithium-ion powered electric motor that can generate the equivalent of 165hp, and you arrive at the grand total of 819hp. An 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission handles shifting duties. The mid-engine, all-wheel drive 296 GTB can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in under 10-seconds. Top speed is a computer controlled 205 mph.

As Emelia slips into the cockpit, her face lights up like a kid in a candy store. Instrumentation and electronics in this Ferrari are leaps and bounds ahead of industry standards. It’s like piloting a car from the future. You certainly don’t want to miss this one.
