Dynamic Street Hits – 870WHP Challenger Hellcat vs. 690WHP Corvette Z06

November 26th, 2022

It’s about to get really gritty on the streets (of Mexico) this evening. The flagship of the Mopar lineup is flaring its nostrils and looking to exert dominance over the shining star of the Chevrolet group. This pair of supercharged production muscle cars – modified for performance – will run for all the marbles in a roll racing contest that initiates at 60 mph. Get ready!

Equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, the Chevrolet C6 (2005-2013) Corvette Z06 was capable of generating 650hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque in stock condition. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6-seconds and clear the standing quarter-mile in 10.6-seconds @ 131 mph. Featured in this video is a Corvette that has been upgraded with a set of longtube exhaust headers, a cat delete kit and it has been tuned to run on E85 fuel. Maximum output is a dyno certified 670whp. The C6 Z06 weighs 3,130-pounds.

The big Mopar tips the scale at 4,415-pounds. One of the most powerful production models ever, the stock Hellcat utilizes a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 to produce 797hp and 707 lb.-ft. of torque. This particular Hellcat has been modified with supercharger and crankshaft pulleys, a cat delete package and E85 tuning. It is estimated that this bad kitty can make 870whp on demand.

Here kitty, kitty. Let’s see what you got!
