Drag Race – Twin Turbo Huracan vs. Twin Turbo LS Toyota Pickup

October 20th, 2022

Here is another quality production from This vs That. This time, they’ve found a couple of competitors with very little in common. Shall we have a closer look?

The 2016 Lamborghini Huracan has been upgraded with an Elite twin turbo kit from Sheepy Race. It is capable of making approximately 1500hp (on 21 psi of boost) and weighs in at 3800-pounds. The stock engine is a 5.2-liter V10, and the transmission is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The Huracan is an all-wheel drive mid-engine machine.

The 1993 Toyota Pickup is a bit more complicated. No stock engine here. It has been discarded for a 6.0-liter LS V8 with a pair of 64-millimeter turbochargers (18 psi of boost). The ‘Yota is running E85 fuel, a Holley controller and a Powerglide 2-speed gearbox. The rear-wheel drive pickup tips the scale at 3500-pounds. This combination of Japanese and American performance art can generate about 900hp on a good day.

The agenda for today is a series of head-to-head drag races to 1000-feet. The results may surprise you. So, who you got?
