K&N has just released details on it’s new intake system, part 69-2527TTR, for the 2008 and later generation 4 Dodge Viper with the 600 horsepower 8.4 liter V10 engine. The intake system replaces the stock Dodge Viper airbox with twin powder coated aerodynamically engineered mandrel-bent aluminum intake tubes and dual K&N high-flow air filters for improved air delivery.
K&N’s dyno results show horsepower gains throughout the RPM range with a peak pickup of 18.7 HP at 5,300 RPM. It should be noted their dyno is reading pretty low as most of the stock 2008 and later Vipers are putting down around 550HP to the wheels, while their dyno shows about 452HP stock and 470HP after installation of the intake kit.
The kit comes with detailed instructions and installation takes about 90 minutes to complete with standard hand tools. Cost for the K&N Viper cold air intake kit is about $572.
