Tesla P100D Ludicrous Testing 0-60 MPH vs Battery State of Charge from 10% to 100%

March 5th, 2017

Fact or Fiction?  Teslas get slower as their battery is depleted. One of the most common comments on our Tesla videos is related to performance losses as the battery state of charge in the Tesla goes down.   Since we typically don’t run our Tesla’s charge down the low levels we never really experience noticeable performance losses.  We have run multiple 0-60 tests as well as 1/4 mile runs back to back with many different Teslas and the times have always been relatively consistent. In the video below we test the Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous from 0-60 MPH as well as measure Read More

Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous Plus Testing on a Mustang Dyno

February 20th, 2017

It’s been about 2 years since we dyno tested our Tesla Model S P85D so we figured it was time to head back to see Jack at HPLogic to see how much power our new Model S P100D with Ludicrous Plus is making. The first few tests were coming in pretty low due to the car pulling back power while throwing up some error codes.  The Tesla’s sensors were detecting that the car was not actually moving while the wheels were spinning, causing the car to stop accelerating on the dyno.  The first result was around 450 ft lbs of torque. Lamborghini Huracan Race vs Stock Exhaust Comparison

August 5th, 2016

We had some time with a Verde Scandal Huracan over at Lamborghini Broward with the Lamborghini OEM Race exhaust system and did a side by side comparison between the race and stock exhaust systems from a sound perspective.  The race exhaust system is about 10dB louder, sheds some weight and adds some power over the stock system that comes with the car from the factory. We decided to proceed with the install and will be doing some follow up testing on the dyno as well as some VBOX  and 1/4 mile testing at Palm Beach International Raceway.  We’ll also add some pics to this post after Read More

American Custom Lifts M1 4.5 Single Post Car Lift Install and Review

December 24th, 2015

We were recently looking to add a 2nd car lift inside a 3 car garage where space was limited and at a premium.  With a 4 post lift already installed in the space,  adding another 4 post lift was proving to be difficult to accommodate space wise.  After looking at various smaller 4 and 2 post options we came across a 1 post option from American Custom Lifts out of San Diego, California.  With over 2,000 of their 1 post lifts installed around the world and after some considerable research we decided with go with their M1 4.5 single post lift. American Custom Lifts M1 Read More

McLaren MP4-12C Alpha Performance Tune Testing

January 23rd, 2015

Continuing on with testing the McLaren MP4-12C we recently installed an ECU tune from Alpha Performance.  Alpha Performance remaps the existing MP4-12C ECU and states average gains of 100 horsepower and 105 ft-lbs of torque throughout the RPM range taking peak horsepower from the stock 616 HP to 716HP. Tuning the MP4-12C ECU requires removing the ECU from the car which is located behind the passenger side rear wheel well which takes about 45 minutes.  After shipping the ECU to AMS it’s returned in just a few days and after reinstalling the ECU the car is ready to go with the additional power and Read More

Tesla Model S P85D Insane vs Sport Mode 0-60 MPH Testing

January 6th, 2015

The all new 691 horsepower dual motor all wheel drive Tesla Model S P85D has two modes of acceleration available to choose from, Insane and Sport.  As we’ve seen and tested, INSANE mode is just that, insane, surprising everyone who’s driven or ridden in the car so far with it’s amazing grip, high G Forces and instant torque from a dead stop. We took the Model S P85D out with a VBOX and GoPro to test out the differences between the Insane and Sport modes from 0-60 MPH.   As you’ll see in the video below, in Insane mode the P85D lived up to it’s hype Read More

McLaren MP4-12C Fabspeed Motorsports Tune Testing

October 19th, 2014

Tuning and performance options have been quite limited for the McLaren MP4-12C as it’s a fairly new car and it takes time to get things moving in the tuning world.  We had some time testing the Fabspeed Motorsports Engine Turning Power Kit on the McLaren MP4-12C we’ve been working with over the past year.   The Fabspeed engine tuning kit for the MP4-12C has a list price of $5,295 and states  a 77 horsepower and 110 ft-lbs torque increase at the engine which would bring the McLaren from 616 HP to almost 700 horsepower. Since the MP4-12C we’ve been testing already Read More
