We recently had some time with a 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider and installed a system that allows us to open and close the exhaust valves using a remote control key fob. The stock Ferrari 458 exhaust system is very quiet at idle and under light load, only opening up after a certain RPM which really dulls down the Ferrari driving experience. Take a look at the video below demonstrating the sound with the exhaust system open and closed with some light engine revving as well. This is just a first round of modifications to this Ferrari, we’ll be adding some racing headers Read More
Some pictures of a 2008 Ferrari F430 we’ll be testing in the next few weeks.
We’ve got some great drag and roll racing action from a private track rental setup by ADV.1 at Palm Beach International Raceway with an ultimate super car matchup between a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and a McLaren MP4-12C. The Ferrari F12 is powered by a screaming 6.3L V12 with 730HP through a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. The Ferrari was equipped with a Capristo exhaust system and a set of custom ADV.1 wheels with 22×13 in the rear with 335/25/22 Pirelli P-Zero Tires. The McLaren MP4-12C is powered by 3.8L V8 Twin Turbo tuned by AMS Alpha Performance bumping up the power from 616 HP Read More
We attended a private track rental put on by ADV1 at Palm Beach International Raceway where we setup a race between the Tesla Model S P85D and their Ferrari F12. Could the 691HP Tesla Model S P85D use it’s all wheel drive advantage to hold off the 730HP V12 powered, rear wheel drive Ferrari F12 down the 1/4 mile? While the Tesla pulled a great reaction time of .06, continued on with a 0-60 MPH time of 3.1 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 11.6 @ 115 MPH, it wasn’t enough to fend off the Ferrari. The Ferrari F12 came on very strong and won by .52 seconds Read More
Autocar tried to put together the race everyone’s been waiting for, a HyperCar hybrid drag race between the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari at an airstrip, but with the Ferrari LaFerrari being a no show, they substituted in a Ducati 1199 Superleggera. The results were pretty much as expected and amazing to watch from the starting line as well as from a Drone as the Porsche 918 with it’s 875HP and AWD drive catapults ahead of the McLaren and Ducati. Shortly after the launch at around 130MPH the McLaren P1 with it’s superior power to weight ratio Read More
We has some time at The Collection in Coral Gables for an exclusive look at the all new 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale. Enjoy the pictures of the ultimate Ferrari track monster weighing in at 2,800 pounds with 600 plus horsepower.
Here we have one of of the ultimate super car match ups, a Lamborghini Aventador vs the Ferrari F12 racing from a roll down an airstrip in Germany put on by GTBoard. While both are powered by 700+ HP V12 engines, the configuration for each is quite different. The Aventador priced at around $450k has a 6.5L 700 HP V12 in the rear with all wheel drive and a single clutch ISR transmission while the $691k Ferrari F12 has a 6.3L 730HP V12 mounted up front with rear wheel drive and a dual clutch transmission. As you can see the Read More
We came across this video of a Ferrari F12 racing heads up against a Lamborghini Aventador at a private event at an airstirp. The Ferrari F12 with it’s front engine V12 pushing out 730HP via rear wheel drive was no match for the Aventador’s mid-engine V12 with 700HP and all wheel drive. Both cars were using launch control but the Aventador simply left the Ferrari for dead. We have to say, the Aventador is the epitome of a true super exotic in terms of performance and looks while the Ferrari F12 is comparatively quite lame. Ferrari F12 vs Lamborghini Read More
We had some time this weekend at the StreetCarDrags event at Palm Beach International Raceway to line up a couple of the most competitive super cars out today, the McLaren MP4-12C and the Ferrari 458 Italia from ADV.1. The McLaren MP4-12C comes into the ring weighing in at 3,118 pounds with a 3.8L Twin Turbo V8 pushing out 616 horsepower through a 7 speed dual clutch seamless shift gearbox while the Ferrari is a little heavier at 3,200 pounds and a naturally aspirated 4.5L V8 pushing out 562 horsepower through a 7 speed dual clutch transmission. Both the McLaren MP4-12C and Read More
We recently got this submission of a brand new Mclaren MP4-12C running heads up vs a Ferrari 458 Sacramento Raceway Park. The McLaren beat the Ferrari pretty badly running an 11.7 @ 130.4 MPH vs the Ferrari 458 running 12.3 @ 121 MPH. This is the first real world run we’ve seen of the new McLaren at the drag strip and while the 130 MPH+ trap speeds are impressive, the off the line performance seems to be lacking with it’s 3.8L V8 Twin Turbo putting down 600+ horsepower to only the rear wheels. Update: Comments coming in advise us this was a Read More
