Bone Stock Corvette Z06 runs 10’s on run-flats

December 3rd, 2007

A bone stock 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 driven by Jamie Furman ran 10.981 @ 128.9 in the 1/4 mile. When we say stock, we mean stock, right down to the run-flat street tires that came with the car. This is the first documented case of a Z06 running in the 10’s as it came from the factory. The record breaking run was done at Maryland International Raceway in 45 degree weather and a DA (Density Altitude) of negative 1253 feet. The negative DA certainly contributed to this ultra quick run, but some excellent driving skills by Jamie were also required to run this quick. The real kicker is that his short time was a decent 1.772, and we’ve seen better, with cool weather and negative DA’s we think there’s more room for the Z06 to dig deeper into the 10’s before the tracks close down up north. Congrats Jamie!
