Big Block Twin Turbo Geo Tracker

September 27th, 2017

This innovative crew of gearheads has taken what must be lower than whale guts on the scale of high-performance vehicles and turned it into a beast of a drag car.

In factory trim, the Geo Tracker is under powered and under appreciated. So, how do you fix it? Well, you take out the shaky four-cylinder and install a giant 7.4-liter big block Chevrolet engine with a pair of Borg Warner 6676 turbochargers (thanks to B3R). It is also running Holley fuel injection and a Rossler transmission. With the capacity to put 900hp to the rear wheels, you can’t go wrong.

If you noticed that this Tracker looks a little different than your average unit; you have a pretty keen eye. The front fenders have been stretched a few (four) inches to accommodate the lengthened Chris Alston suspension. The rear suspension setup is from a Fox Body Mustang and it features a Ford 9-inch differential.

Despite some overheating and electrical issues, the crew campaigned this monster throughout Hot Rod Drag Week and managed to post several (personal best) low 9-second elapsed times. Way to go guys!
