Battle of the Border – 32 Car Small Tire Street Showdown

October 15th, 2021

With the southern U.S. border wall as the backdrop, 32 of the baddest cars (and trucks) in the land have gathered for single elimination street digs. A $500 per car buy-in will yield a grand prize of $16k for the overall winner. Cars of every variety are on hand; from extreme turbo Volkswagen bugs to nitrous sucking Chevrolets to supercharged Mustangs – they are all here to lay it on the line for a pile of cash.

There’s a “doodle-bug” rolling in with a dynamite setup. The 2,160-pound Volkswagen is equipped with a stock motor and transaxle and a wild blow-through turbo system. With a shot of nitrous, this bug is capable of making 500+hp and turning some impressive wheelies. All the weight is in the rear!

Here comes a slick 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with an all-aluminum 388 cubic-inch Dart Racing Engine and a 94-millimeter turbocharger winking through the grille. This piece of vintage iron tips the scale at 2,700-pounds and can produce 1,300hp. Should be a contender.

After the driver’s meeting – complete with a visit from local PD – we are ready for the first round. Buckle up, it’s about to get real.
