Another 6-Second GT-R – Tony Palo T1

April 10th, 2018

Tony Palo and the T1 Race Development Team have settled in among the elite in Nissan GT-R record-breakers. These guys campaign one of the more unique looking cars on the GT-R circuit.

The first thing that catches my eye is the widebody treatment. This car looks like something out of a science fiction flick. The subtle camo pattern paint is out of this world and rounds out an aesthetic that makes this car one of the most eye-catching of the season (even at TX2K18).

After 3-years of running this car through the vicious cycle of race, break, repair, and repeat; this crew is ramping up for a total teardown and reconfiguration. This ride will return as a rear-wheel drive (only) car. It will be more powerful and who knows what appearance upgrades are in store. They just want a 6-second pass before the transformation gets underway.

As fate would have it, Tony and the T1 team were able to post their first ever 6-second (6.979-seconds) quarter-mile pass just moments before the transmission went kaplooey. Luckily for them, they already have a replacement transmission (rear-wheel drive) in the works for the redesign. Get ready racing fans; this team is capable of turning out a monster unlike any quarter-mile car that we have ever seen. I can’t wait to see it take the track.
