American Track Battle – Redeye vs ZL1 1LT vs GT500

February 6th, 2020

Never mind this short video – the battle between the Detroit Big 3 has been raging since the 1960s. Early muscle cars terrorized the tracks and savaged the streets as massive motors with crazy carb setups rolled right off the assembly line and onto dealership floors. These days, big engines and carbs have given way to superchargers and electronic fuel injection, but muscle cars are even more potent than they were the first time around. With the recent introduction of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 we couldn’t help but bring the Big 3 back out for another run at the title of Baddest American Muscle Car.

This video will test three retro-muscle maulers from a drag race to a roll race to a timed track battle. The first is the brand-new 2020 Shelby GT500 (760hp). She is well heeled with a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine. Right next to her is the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye (797hp) with its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. Finally, we have the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LT. It has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that can make 650hp. Let’s check out some racing.

Drag racing is first. After some serious trash talk, these guys finally line up and throw down. Which car do you think takes the lead? Have a gander for yourself.
