All-Motor Asphalt Assault – C7 Corvette vs. Mustang GT

February 1st, 2023

Here we have a nighttime roll race on the streets (of Mexico). No power-adders in this one; just high-powered cubic inches. Chevrolet versus Ford.

Proudly sporting the bowtie brand, the C7 (2014-2019) Chevrolet Corvette rolls off the assembly line with an all-aluminum 6.2-liter V8 that can produce 460hp and 464 lb.-ft. of torque. The C7 ‘Vette weighs 3,774-pounds and has an 8-speed sequential automatic transmission. According to Road and Track, 0 to 60 mph can be accomplished in 3.8-seconds. Top speed is 180 mph (computer controlled). The Corvette featured in this video has been modified with a full accoutrement of bolt-ons and a high-ram intake.

Whether you want to dominate the dragstrip or tame the canyon curves, the Corvette’s double wishbone front and rear suspension systems are up to the task.

On the Ford side, the Mustang GT is equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Despite a curb weight of 3,972-pounds, the Mustang can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2- seconds. The V8 engine can churn out 460hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. This Mustang has been upgraded with a performance camshaft, an E85 tune and a slew of bolt-ons.

Rev ‘em up and let’s roll!
