700WHP Gen2 Camaro – Dyno

June 2nd, 2017

Too big, too bulky, too long, and too heavy are all adjectives that were used to describe the Gen2 Camaro. It is about what you would expect for a version of a muscle car that replaced a very popular original.

It seems that this car owner has found a cunning way to get around the added girth of the (Z28 version?) split-bumper coupe. It all begins with a run-of-the-mill 4.8-liter Chevy engine with a camshaft upgrade. Add an 80-millimeter turbocharger to the lighter engine and you have a 700hp behemoth that is geared to tame the track. A Powerglide transmission helps to get the ponies to the pavement.

This video gives us an up close and personal look into the dyno tuning process. The first pass is on pump gas and the next one is with C16 Racing Fuel. Obviously, the racing fuel makes quite a difference; increasing horsepower and torque across the board.

We know that this car has the power but can it get the power down the track? That remains to be seen as we watch for this car to take the track during the remainder of the season.

This is a great looking car in Midnight Blue. Have a look for yourself.
