6-Second Turbo Silverado Goes Airborne at World Cup Finals

January 27th, 2023

The backdrop is the Haltech World Cup Finals. 1320 Video caught up with the turbo Silverado known as RedRum. Listen carefully as the owner/operator describes his feelings leading up to Round 1 of qualifying. This is his first time running a quarter-mile event.

The truck is a full-size short bed with a 7.0-liter LS engine setup. A 104-millimeter Bullseye turbocharger is responsible for forced air induction. A little heavy for the class, RedRum is tipping the scale at 2,945-pounds.

RedRum rolls off the trailer hot as a firecracker. Lined up against a Nissan GT-R, the heavy Chevy lays down a clean run and posts a 6.99 @ 186.95 mph.

It’s Day 2 and the crew is looking to put RedRum deeper into the sixes. He rolls out against a cherry 1957 Chevy. After a perfect hole shot, the truck takes off – I mean it takes off. Not only does he ‘tote the front’ but all four wheels leave the ground before slamming back down. The driver manages to hold the truck in the lane and complete the pass. This has to be one of the most insane wheelies ever recorded.

This truck has power to spare. Enjoy the rest of the racing action from the Haltech World Cup Finals.
