$4000 Roll Racing – Tesla Plaid vs. Audi TT-RS

December 14th, 2021

You boys (and girls) like Mexico? I fear that we have a pretty Audi TT-RS that has been drawn into a spider’s web. The spider seems harmless. The spider is a sedan after all. The spider is a full-electric Tesla Plaid. A black widow, you say? Somebody flip her over and see if there’s a red hourglass.

Stunning in lime green, the Audi TT-RS sounds amazing. Powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine, the all-wheel drive Audi is capable of producing 394hp in stock trim. This Audi has been modified with a turbo upgrade, some exhaust work, a full assortment of bolt-on performance goodies and a performance tune. There is truly no end to what may have actually been done to this car or how much power it can actually produce. It sounds meaner than a ticked off bumble bee.

On the other hand, the Tesla is docile. There is no exhaust note as there are zero emissions. While it looks like a family car, it can turn a quarter-mile in 9-seconds – from the factory. In case you don’t know, that’s fast. Three electric motors produce the equivalent of 1,100hp with no turbo lag. Things ain’t looking good for the Audi, huh?

After what seems like an eternity of haggling and jockeying for position, these guys finally come to an understanding. This will be 30-130 mph rolls in a best of 3 format with a $4K pot on the line.

Roll ‘em out and let’s see what happens when the rubber meets the road.
