2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo, Larger Turbos and 595 horsepower

November 18th, 2013

Information on the upcoming 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo has leaked out and while the specs look great, the pricing might have gone a bit out of control.  Power from the 3.8L V6 Twin Turbo has been increased to 595 horsepower and 480 ft-lbs of torque due to larger turbochargers, a revised intake manifold along with an updated exhaust system.  The only performance spec to be leaked so far is the Nürburgring  time of  just 7:08.

Our last test of the 2013 Nissan GT-R with 545 horsepower resulted in 0-60 in 2.7 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 10.87 @ 125 MPH.  After a tune and mid pipe install which resulted in about a 40HP gain, that same car ran 10.56 @ 126 MPH.   We would expect similar times from the Nismo, mid 10’s at around 130 MPH.

Of course there is host of aero enhancements to go along with the Nismo package and all of this comes at what looks like a significant price increase over a standard GT-R at close to $150,000.00.   More details should arise in the next few days as the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show gets underway.
