2015 Dodge Viper TA 2.0 vs 2015 Hellcat

March 6th, 2015

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT HellcatFeast your eyes on this video of two premier Dodge performance machines slugging it out in the quarter-mile.

Both cars were bone stock and piloted by amateur drivers. As you can see, the Viper (driver) slips third gear but it seems as though the Hellcat already had the contest in the bag by that point.

It seems that the Hellcat, affectionately named Fattcat, is developing quite a reputation for spanking high-priced supercars on public highways. So far he has dispatched a highly tuned Nissan GTR, as well as various Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, and even a turbocharged Chevy Cobalt. This video, unlike others, features a conventional stationary start. Most of the other videos use a rolling start, which is perfect fro the Hellcat because of its enormous girth. Put the Hellcat down for a 10.8-second quarter at 126 mph.

The Viper TA 2.0 is probably better suited for the road course than the drag strip. While its 645-horsepower 8.4-liter V10 pales in comparison to the 707-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi in the Hellcat, its high performance suspension and handling characteristics give it a distinct advantage in the curves. The Viper put up an 11.6-second quarter at 123 mph.
