200+MPH Street Racing Texas Style

1320It has been said that everything is bigger in Texas. While we don’t condone street racing, the level of street racing horsepower displayed in this video is monstrous. On the one hand, we have a highly modified Lamborghini Gallardo advertising the capability to produce 1750-horsepower. In lane two, we have a similarly equipped Nissan GT-R boasting over 1500-horsepower. Can a lowly Nissan hold its own against this legendary Italian?

Underground Racing (Charlotte, N.C.) has worked their magic on the Lambo. Beginning with extensive engine upgrades and a pair of twin billet 62-millimeter turbochargers, Underground Racing treated the Gallardo to a horsepower increase of nearly threefold. Major performance enhancements include a custom made lightweight stainless-steel exhaust system, a custom made intercooler, and custom made stainless-steel high-flow mufflers. Minor improvements include a custom tailored ice-water reservoir, as well as show-quality polishing on turbo compressors, the intercooler, and all piping.

The GT-R is modified by Switzer Performance (Oberlin, OH.) using their Switzer Goliath X kit. It includes twin-turbochargers, extensive engine modifications, Monster intercoolers, custom made cast stainless intake manifolds, a Goliath high-flow fuel system with a third fuel rail, upgraded fuel injectors, and a pair of high volume fuel pumps, among many other things. This Nissan gives the Lamborghini more than it can handle, at least on this night in Texas.
