US Spec Nissan GT-R runs 11.8 @ 118 MPH at Sacramento Raceway

Edmunds took their US spec 2009 Nissan GT-R to Sacrament Raceway this weekend and ran it down the 1/4 mile. We don’t have all of the timeslip details, but the video shows it running a 11.807 @ 118.62 MPH. Without the 60′ time we can’t really tell how well it launched, but the video shows a bit of spinning and hopping before it really took off. Dyno Accident

Most dyno rooms we’ve seen have guard rails separating the car on the dyno from the spectator area. This dyno room in Serbia was very tight with quite a few people standing around during a dyno run. Towards the end of the run a man walked by the car while shaking hands with someone. He accidentally stepped on the dyno roller while it was still spinning, resulting in a horrible faceplant into the floor. Careful out there while on the dyno! Video below from Streetfire.net:

First stock Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG runs 11’s in the 1/4 mile

Rob MacNeil aka oldgixxer ran his bone stock Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG down the 1/4 mile during a private track rental at Atco Raceway in New Jersey last week. After a couple low 12 second shakedown runs, he managed to produce a record breaking run of 11.952 @ 118.32 MPH.
