2000HP NRE Pontiac Tempest – Dyno and Street Test

April 5th, 2016

2000HP NRE Pontiac Tempest - Dyno and Street TestNelson Racing Engines (NRE) is on the cutting edge in the area of extreme turbocharged performance. Tom Nelson and his crew are consistently turning out mind-blowing combinations of old-fashioned cubic inches and multiple forced air induction devices. These guys are doing it as well as anyone in the industry right now.

This 1963 Pontiac Tempest is the prototypical street sleeper. Tom sums it up by stating, “This thing can go 7s in the 1/4 and is capable of making 2,000hp but we can still cruise it around on the streets.” This vintage Poncho has been modified by replacing the stock engine with a 515-cubic-inch big block with Big Duke cylinder heads, 160-pound fuel injectors, Nelson 2-inch forward mount exhaust headers, and twin 76-millimeter turbochargers (with a massive air-to-air intercooler). You certainly don’t want to miss this one!
