1956 Chevy Coupe – 6-Second Monster

January 6th, 2019

That’s correct – all metal (with the exception of the hood and trunk) – with factory glass and trim. Known as The Creamsickle, this orange Chevrolet economy coupe has posted a best quarter-mile elapsed time of 6.80-seconds @ 210 mph! Any way you slice it – that’s a whole lot of pickin’em up and puttin’em down.

As previously mentioned, this is a complete car in factory trim. The fenders, doors, and even the bumpers, grille, and trim are stock GM. Translate that into HEAVY. It’s going to take a ton of horsepower to get this big body moving. Wheels are vintage American Racing and they are wrapped in Mickey Thompson rubber.

In the cockpit, the ‘Sickle is all business with a fiberglass dash that is airbrushed to resemble original equipment. It has a full roll cage and racing harnesses, of course. Everything inside works, and it looks very pretty.

Under the hood is a 632 cubic-inch Dart Racing engine block with a set of Brodix cylinder heads. The motor is naturally aspirated and capable of making approximately 1,200hp.

The walk through continues as the guys get the old Chevy on the lift. Take a look.
