When the dust settles and all the bolts are tightened, it’s time for the payoff. That’s when you finally get to test drive the vehicle and discover – in real time – actual horsepower gains. This is the day that Race Proven Motorsports (RPM) gets to “bust the gas” on a C8 Chevrolet Corvette that has been outfitted with a twin turbo package. We get to go along for the ride.

The latest version of the Corvette (the C8) is a brand-new game. It features a mid-engine setup in a rear-wheel drive configuration. The stock engine is a 6.2-liter V8 that can generate 495hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. Shifting is handled by an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The stock C8 ‘Vette can accelerate from 0-60 mph in only 2.8-seconds and turn the quarter-mile in 11-seconds. Let’s see what RPM can do about that.

First, they add a pair of turbochargers and a giant intercooler. To offset the added air induction, they bump-up the fuel supply and upgrade the fuel injection system. Other add-ons include performance exhaust, a cold air intake system and advanced tuning.
