1000HP Turbo Charger Hellcat – Street Hits

June 2nd, 2020

No, your eyes have not failed you – this Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat sedan is rocking a turbocharger and a supercharger. Whoa! Wait a minute. While there is a supercharger bolted between the cylinder heads, it is only being used as an intake manifold. It has a belt but no guts inside. A turbocharger has taken its place as the sole source of forced air induction.

The stock (6.2-liter HEMI) engine block has been upgraded with performance pistons and connecting rods. The crankshaft is factory, but the camshaft has also been upgraded. The turbocharger is a Borg Warner S488 SX-E on 22 psi of boost. This thing sounds amazing. Take a listen.

The first victim of the night is a turbocharged Honda Civic hatch. The tiny import gets the initial jump, but the Mopar gobbles him up quickly FTW. Same result in multiple hits.

Next up is a modified Mustang. This should be a good battle between a pair of quick cars. Oh no! The cops show up and this night of racing ends with a fist full of driving awards. Better take this little kitty back to the house. You can’t win ‘em all.
